The Atlas of the Human Planet 2020 – Open Geoinformation for Research, Policy and Action will be launched on Thursday Jan 21, 15:00 | (UTC+01:00) Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris | 2 hrs 30 mins (see connection details below).

The Atlas of the Human Planet 2020 is a deliverable of the GEO Human Planet Initiative and the JRC. It collects contributions from more than 100 users of the Global Human Settlement Layer data sets among decision makers, researchers and practitioners.

The event will feature presentations delivered by the authors of the showcases in the thematic areas of Disaster Risk Management, Urbanisation, Development, Environment and Sustainability.

The second part of the event features a panel discussion where European and international policymakers will discuss the relevance and the challenges in global open geoinformation on settlements for policy and action and the road ahead.
